Default A simple suggestion for stopping 5-man orozar/FA farming

My question is this: why not just put in more binders, and then give all the necro enemies verata's aura? Wouldn't this throw a huge monkey wrench in the whole thing? Or, for that matter, simply add an MM enemy that uses verata's sacrifice, bone fiends, verata's aura and taste of death? Put a couple of those in each major group and you've basically stopped five-man farming, or four-man for that matter. You could still kill a lot of stuff with just an SS, but you wouldn't get through everything.

Not to mention just nerfing the gear=aggro thing. Those two things together would spell death for orozar/fa farming without nerfing greens or hugely changing sorrow's furnace.

Good idea?

I dunno about all that but waht they simply need is more enemies that use corpses to stop the 5 man farming in addition to having some interupts come from the residents of Sorrows Furnace.

They did put a stop to the griff farming by adding the Queen to that area. A very clever way of adding something new to the game and at the same time put a creative end to the wanton farming in the area.

Just a thought, if they nerfed the gear trick in SF then would they nerf the book trick in FoW as well. To me it makes sense that they would do that as well, just seems logical.

The AI of the monsters is rediculous. The game has come a far way and still they will attack ONLY the one holding the book/gear/keg. If this was changed, 5 man farming would be impossible.

Er...I don't see the point in nerfing a 5 person team build solely on the grounds of farming. Isn't this more like the kind of farming Anet would want? 5 people working together as a team for a common goal?

BTW, the gear/book thing works because the enemies consider you as not having any weapons/offhands equipped, thus you're a very nice target, so you'd have to do something about empty weapon slots as well.

Well, I can take the point that since it's 5 man farming, it's not really that frowned upon, but the thing is, I kind of picture myself walking around tyria and finding greens just lying on the ground because people just didn't want them anymore. THey're too common. This would be a great way of not nerfing greens or nerfing skills/builds, but simply making an area more difficult to farm.

The entire point of greens is to make them common items. People want perfect weapons with "kool" skins and they don't want to farm UW or FoW for them... period...

This is why greens will never have a high price, and why people will farm them for low income, which is also why they are located in some very easy locations in the game... yes, Tombs, and SF are very very very easy...

It isn't like they are hiding greens in the depth of the spawning pools in UW a place not many people have been... and place not many people know exists..

The solution is easy: kill the stupid book/keg/gear/crystal/mine/whatever tank exploit. That monsters attack anyone carrying *anything*, and *ONLY* the guy carrying anything, is a huge bug, and fixing the geartank exploit should be at the top of the priorities list for ANet.

Yes. I do not understand why it has not yet been disable that trick.

Farming is ok, otherwise: it would be very difficult for a PvE character to have those weapons in PvE, that any PvP character might have.

4-5 team players teams to farm in Sorrow Furnace are doable without the keg trick. I have been farming with my mesmer, devona, mhenlo and lina seeral of bosses of the Orozar's quest (not all ^^). And some bosses of the Final Assault quest.

The Queen I farmed her with my mesmer, alesia and lina lastly. Think the first two times I met her I went with all the henchies and I was killed... and I though that I would be able to do get the staff... never {smile}

Why do you want to stop it
If it was nerfed it'd ruin alot of ppls fun in SF

especialy warriors who rarely feel needed except when they play stance tank..

My guess:
OP has a large hoard of greens and wants to get more money out of them.

Greens are as cheap as they are now due to over farming, true. HOWEVER, they were always intended to be cheap because ANet wanted to give the PvE'ers some cheap perfect weapons to be more competitive in PvP.

Also, 5-man farming does not garanty a green every run, and takes a while to do, so why would ANet nerf it? It can't be solo'd and a bot can't run it, so the Chinese bot farmers don't try it. Only the "legitimate farmers".

5 players farming team is not to be nerfed {smile}. I think that the trick of the keg is harmfull because those 5 people farming builds which are based on the trick.

I play mostly a mesmer, and mesmer's aren't a part on those... but, mesmer is as good as necro, or warrior to farm in Sorrow's Furnace. I think that warriors do not need the keg trick to be appreciated, as having a tank is good in Sorrows Furnace, because all those axe dwarf warriors and dwarf rangers {smile}. I use Devona this way.

So, I think, make 5 people farming teams without being obsessed with the trick of the keg.
